Session 5

The four of them go back to Pelipper's Post Office. The place is moderately busy, with a swellow taking letters from some pokemon.

"Hi Ms Swell!" Pooch says, "Hi Pooch!" the swellow responds before going back to business. The place looks still pretty burned. It's been like a month and a half since the fire.

The group goes to the back, there's still debree everywhere, its like nobody has had time to clean it, which is problably right. Pooch works all day and is not very strong, Nyta is injured and Taytay is very small and also not very strong. Ms Swell seems to be taking care of all the administration tasks during the day too.

Sky looks at the place and goes "So, how are repairs going?". "Pretty slow." Nyta responds, her voice sounds a little bitter, "We haven't had much help taking this debree out.". "We also don't have a place to put it." says Pooch "The best solution would be to take all of it to the Timbur Building Guild, but they are busy repairing roads so they've not been able to help us." he turns back to the rest "The first thing I'm saving for is a cart! That way it doesn't matter if we are not that strong, we can still put things in the cart and I can take them to Timbur's!"

"Oh!" says Sky "But how are you going to get things on the cart?" she says. Pooch pauses, his expression unmoving, "He didn't thought of that" everyone thought.

"I can come and help sometime if you need it." says Sky again. "Really?" says Taytay very excitedly. "Alright but now Sky is our guest!" Nyta says "So no working!". The group goes to a room with a medium sized table and a working kitchen. The place looks burned but surprisingly functional given the state of the building. The table has 6 seats and its made of wood. The kitchen has a counter, a mud oven and some baskets with berries and veggies.

"I may not be able to run, but I can cook a delicious berry stew with the help of my sous chef" Nyta says, "That's me!" says Taytay. "Do you want help?" says Pooch, "Nope, you guys have been training hard and deserve some rest, you can tell us about your adventures while we cook!".

Pooch and Sky sit down and they tell Nyta and Taytay about their two dungeon adventures, the Spying Shrine and the Abandoned Dojo. They talk about the dangers, wild pokemon, that weird Medicham guy.

"And then that obnoxious Medicham challenged Pooch to a duel. Because he SAVED HIS LIFE??" said Sky, "Oh I hate this guy" says Nyta, "Cmon, he wasn't that bad." Pooch added. "And proceeded to absorb the knowledge of a scroll or something and freaking wiped the floor with Pooch." Sky continues, Pooch hides his face under the table a little, "So I beat his ass up, Arceus that guy was weird.". "That sounds like a super crazy guy, I'm glad I never had to escort people in my time at the guild."

"How was your time at the guild?" said Sky, "Instructor Pike said you were a delivery pokemon?". "She is the best!" Pooch jumps from under the table, "One time she climbed mount Ice Fang in 30 minutes and delivered some Aspear's Berrys to Team Fiery Flash, and another time she-", "Cmon Pooch, let me tell my own stories." Nyta laughs "Oh sorry!" says Pooch with a smile.

"My time at the guild was fun, I mostly worked alone because of speed issues. My strategy is to move fast and find the stairs as fast as I can. Not many pokemon could keep up with me" Nyta says. "It also paid well, teams could to a transfer with the bank and ask for items, I went and bought them with some of the money and then run to give them the items. Some dungeons were a little hard given some obstacles, but nothing that a Pounce Wand couldn't solve."

"And why did you started to work for the guild?" Sky asked, "Well, I wanted to support Rescue Teams in some way. My parents were in a Rescue Team and I really admired them." Nyta replied. Sky looks excitedly at Nyta "What team were they a part of?" she asks with shining eyes, "Team Swift" she said in a soft voice. Sky's mood changed completely, she knows who Team Swift are... or were to be more precise. They were lost in a mystery dungeon, they were tasked with saving a pair of Pokemon, but they never came back.

"I'm sorry." Sky says, "Don't worry about it." says Nyta while mixing the stew with a wooden spoon. "They forgot their Escape Orb," she added "I found it in a bag after they left.". A small silence came over the room.

"Well the stew seems to be ready!" Nyta says.

Roll for stew! -> 16! The stew came out pretty good, it could restore even the most tired pokemon's energy.

They all "sit" around the table and start eating. "Hey, and how are your 'classmates'?" Nyta says "Anyone interesting?". Sky looks like she's about to talk smack about someone, but Pooch responds first "We don't know a lot about the other Rescue Teams in training. We only have interacted with a team called Team Shadow Blade who are a Pawniard called Slash and a Riolu. The Pawniard is kind of egocentric I think?" "VERY" Sky adds. "They call us 'losers' all the time even though we have beat them before in the Spying Shrine."

"To be fair." Pooch says "Riolu was not helping Slash then." "Riolu?" Nyta interjects "Is the Riolu's name Riolu?". "To be honest we don't know, but everyone calls him Riolu so we do it too." says Sky. "He's more sensible, though he has this kind of sad vibe. We don't see him smile a lot, and is serious or tired most of the time. The oposite of Slash really." "I think they are a good duo." says Pooch, "Riolu keeps Slash out of trouble, and Slash cheers up Riolu." Sky looks at Pooch "Really?" she says "Yeah, remember when we were at the infirmary an you and Slash wanted to fight and Riolu and me stopped you two? I didn't think Riolu was sad there, I had the impression he was having fun a little. Maybe he was distracted from the thing that makes him feel sad."

"Interesting" said Nyta. "And what about the others?". Pooch and Sky then tell Nyta and Taytay about the other instructors, and other teams. The evening went fast after that and they went to sleep. Pooch and Taytay made a bed for Sky in Nyta's room while they both went back to their room.

That night Sky stayed awake a little more than usual. Slash and Riolu, they were a weird duo, but what Pooch said also made sense. Pooch and her were also a weird duo, Pooch takes distance and fights from afar while Sky gets up close and does as much damage as she can. She wants to help people in his home town and Pooch wants to help his family. They may be different but have a lot in common, she wonders if Slash and Riolu are also like that.
