Session 6: The Enigma Temple

A distress call arrived at the Rescue Association, and it was quickly delegated to Team Helping Paw.

## Dungeon Details

The Enigma Temple is an old construction that used to be an environment study facility. The temple is located in a patch of trees and flowers. The flora around it takes unusual colors like cyan and violet.

A Mienfoo is trapped in the 4th floor. They were investigating the surrounding vegetation when a hole opened and got trapped in the dungeon.

"Wow" says Pooch, while walking through a patch of very colorful flowers. "I didn't know that a place like this existed so close to Windmill City".

"But you are FROM the city Pooch" Sky replied "You are supposed to be the one who knows what's near it from the two of us." Pooch stops and looks at her "I've never had to go outside of the city before. My job didn't leave me with much time to explore it's surroundings..."

"Oh! What's that?" he exclaims, in the distance there's a big construction that resembles a big tree, surrounded by some trees and flowers. It has a big door in the front, and a couple of big wooden pokemon statues.

"That must be the Enigma Temple" Sky responds, "Get ready Pooch!". The team enters the dungeon.

The team starts in room D, its a Sanctuary!

Room D

The room has a big root in the center of it, pulsating with nature's energy. It inspires the team to move forward.

They look around the room:

They both move forward to room B

Room B

This room has a crack in the floor from which strong winds come out, dividing the room in 2. On one side is team Helping Paw and a hostile Weedle, and on the other are two other exits and one orb on the floor. Initiative Starts.

The turn order is:

The Weedle attacks Pooch, but in a desperate move Pooch uses Run Away and manages to successfully cross the wind wall to the other side, evading the attack.

Next Pooch goes and picks up the orb which turned out to be a Drought Orb, he also finds a book with information about natural disasters.

Sky uses Iron Tail on the Weedle but misses.

The Weedle attacks Sky with a regular attack, but misses.

Pooch tries to go through the wind wall to help Sky, but fails.

Weedle attacks Sky and hits! Doing 4 damage and leaving her with 16 HP.

Pooch manages to cross the wind wall and land a regular attack on the Weedle. Doing 2 damage and leaving it with 8 HP left.

Sky tries to do a regular attack to the Weedle but fails.

Weedle attacks Pooch, but he manages to avoid the attack and counter attacks with his own regular attack. Dealing 3 damage and leaving the Weedle at 5 HP.

Sky attacks and lands an attack on the Weedle finally, dealing 9 damage. The Weedle disappears in a puff of smoke.

Both Sky and Pooch return to Room D and heal at the sanctuary. Regaining half their total HP and PP. They are both back to full. The sanctuary loses its power.

They then go back to Room B and cross the wind wall. Sky manages to find another Aurora Spike in one of the bookshelves in the wall.

The party then goes to Room A

Room A

It's a Challenge Room! The room seems to have big square tiles on the floor.

As the team enters the room, Sky steps on one of the tiles and it turns out to be a trap. Fire erupts from the ground below her, but she manages to jump to avoid most of the damage. She takes 1 fire damage (19 HP left). The path behind them gets block by a wooden door that appears from the ground.

Looking in the room, they see 4 items on the floor: two Reunion Capes, 67 Poke and 3 iron thorns.

Sky looks at the room to try to decipher the puzzle of the room. By stepping in some tiles and moving her paw away she figures out they have to "activate" some specific tiles to progress. (4 progress points from 10)

Sky steps on another incorrect tile during her experimentation and takes another 1 fire damage (18 HP).

Pooch accidentally steps on a correct tile, achieving 2 more progress points (6/10)

Both of them stand side by side, discussing which are the last safe tiles. There are 4 tiles left.

They each step on a different tile, and both of them turn out to be correct. The door blocking the entrance opens and the room is now safe.

The team takes the items and moves to the last room of the floor.

Room B

It's a normal room with the stairs. This room has 4 pokemon: 3 weedle and 1 kriketot. It also has 2 items: a One-Room Orb and an apple.

The Kricketot and one of the Weedle go for Pooch. Pooch manages to evade the Kricketot's attack and uses Run Away to escape the Weedle.

The other two weedles attack Sky. One of them hits her for 2 damage (16 HP).

Pooch uses his Petrify Orb! 2 of the Weedles are now petrified.

Sky runs towards the Kricketot and attacks it with Iron Tail. It hits and deals 9 damage (1 HP).

The Weedle that's not paralyzed attacks Pooch, but he evades it with Run Away.

The Kricketot attacks Sky and deals 1 damage to her (15 HP).

Pooch runs towards the Weedle and positions himself so the Weedle is between him and the Kricketot. Then he uses Roar. The Weedle goes flying and impacts the Kricketot, dealing 2 damage to each of them. And knocking out the Kricketot.

Sky takes her chance now that the Weedle is disoriented and attacks it. She hits and deals 8 damage, knocking it out. Both the Weedle and the Kricketot disappear.

The team takes the items and goes through the stairs, ignoring the paralyzed dungeon pokemon.

Room A

The team appears in a narrow hallway, the walls are covered with bookshelves with some books here and there. Sky finds 2 Bug Stings while examining these bookshelves.

The team moves to Room B

Room B

The room is the same type of challenge room as before. Square tiles cover the floor, the same kind that erupt into flames when you step on the wrong one like on the floor above. In the middle of the room are the stairs to the next floor.

The room has 3 enemy Kricketots that rush Sky. 2 of them manage to hit her and deal 6 damage (9 HP).

Pooch moves to the side and throws an aurora spike at one of the Kricketots, it hits and takes 23 ice damage. Its body turns frozen solid rapidly and from one moment to the next disappears in a puff of smoke.

Sky uses Iron Tail on one of the remaining Kricketots. She manages to hit it and deal 12 steel damage, knocking it out.

The last Kricketot runs at Pooch and attempts to hit him, but Pooch uses Run Away and takes some distance.

Finally Pooch and Sky attack the last Kricketot at the same time, Pooch throws an Iron Thorn and Sky uses Iron Tail. Both hit, dealing a total of 9 damage. As the Kricketot falls back, it steps on a trapped tile and goes on fire, disappearing from one moment to the next as the flames stop.

The team moves to the next floor.

Room D

Pooch and Sky find themselves in the intersection of two hallways. There seems to be some bookshelves in the walls with some books, some fossils and depictions of ancient bug pokemon. They inspect the bookshelves and find some Bug Stingers and 2 apples.

The team enters Room E

Room E

It seems to be an obstacle room with a treasure chest! There's a strong wind barrier like the one two floors above dividing the room in 2. On one side is the Team and a flag on the floor; and on the other side two hostile Weedles and a medium treasure chest.

One of the Weedles crosses the wind wall and attempts to attack Pooch! But Pooch avoids the attack and takes some distance using Run Away. He counter attacks with an Iron Thorn and hits, doing 5 damage!

Sky attacks the same Weedle and does 4 damage, leaving it with 1HP!

The second Weedle crosses the wind wall and attemps to attack Pooch! But once again Pooch avoids the attack by using Run Away.

The hurt Weedle attempts to attack Sky, but she blocks the attack with her tail. The Weedle stumbles back as Sky lunges forward with her tail, hitting it and knocking it out.

The second Weedle attacks Sky, but she avoids the attack. At the same time Pooch throws an Iron Thorn at the Weedle, dealing 2 damage and making it lose its footing. Sky quickly attacks the Weedle with Iron Tail and its a critical hit! She deals 18 damage and the Weedle is knocked out instantly.

Both Weedles disappear in a poof of smoke and combat is over.

The team crosses the wind wall and opens the treasure chest. They find the following items:

The team then moves to room B.

Room B

It's a challenge room similar to the ones they have seen before in this dungeon. The room is covered in those trapped-tiles that blow fire. In the room there's also a Wand, an Orb and two Kricketots.

Both Kricketots attack Pooch! Pooch manages to avoid the first attack using Run Away, but is exposed to the attack of the second Kricketot. At the last second Pooch manages to jump out of the way of the second Kricketot's attack.

As the second Kricketot fails to land a hit on Pooch, it steps on a trapped tile and takes 2 fire damage.

Sky jumps in the damaged Kricketot's direction and uses Iron Tail. It's a crit! she smashes the Kricketot against the ground, dealing 23 damage and making it explode in a poof of smoke.

The remaining Kricketot attacks Sky and hits her, dealing 3 damage. Pooch sees this and runs towards Sky to help her, but accidentally steps on a trapped tile and takes 3 fire damage (7 HP left).

Sky regains her footing and attacks the remaining Kricketot with Iron Tail. She hits and deals 12 damage, knocking it out. Combat is over.

The team moves on to solve the room's trapped tile puzzle. After a short while they manage to step on all the correct tiles and are free to leave the room.

They take the items and move on to room A.

Room A

Its a normal room, inside there are 2 Kricketots and 1 Weedle. Combat starts.

The hostile dungeon pokemon run towards the team. Pooch takes out his Blast Wand and uses it against them. One of the Kricketots manages to avoid the blast, but the other pokemon take 5 damage each.

Sky takes her chance and attacks the hurt Kricketot with a regular attack. It takes 7 damage and disappears in a puff of smoke.

The Weedle and the other Kricketot turn their attention to Pooch and both of them lunge at him. He evades the Weedle's attack using Run Away. The Kricketune then tries to cut his escape, but Pooch avoids the attack using some fast footwork.

Pooch throws an Iron Thorn at the Weedle, dealing 3 damage (2 HP left).

Both the Weedle and Kricketune turn their attention back to Sky. They both attack her and deal 6 damage, leaving her with 3 HP left.

Pooch runs towards the enemies and attempts to use Roar on the Weedle to make it collide with the Kricketune. The Weedle avoids his attack however.

Sky takes some distance and eats an oran berry, recovering 10 health and leaving her at 13 HP.

Both the Kricketot and Weedle take advantage that Pooch is close and can't use Run Away. They both attack Pooch and deal 4 damage (3 HP left).

Pooch takes some distance and throws an Iron Thorn at the Weedle, dealing 3 damage and knocking it out.

Sky attacks the Kricketot and deals 7 damage, leaving it with just 3 HP.

The Kricketot tries to counter attack with a normal attack against Sky. But it fails.

Pooch throws an Iron Thorn towards the Kricketune and deals 2 damage, leaving it at 1 HP!

The Kricketot stumbles back, preparing to attack Pooch. But it fails to notice Sky who jumps and hits it with a regular attack with her tail, knocking it out.

The Kricketot disappears in a puff of smoke.

Both Pooch and Sky look for stuff around the room. They find a Blinker Seed and 90 Poke.
