Session 7: The Enigma Temple pt2

The team moves on to the las room in the 3rd floor of the Enigma Temple.

Room C

It's the stairs room! It has 3 items: a treasure box, an apple and an orb. There also seems to be an unconcious Weedle.

Sky knows that dungeon pokemon disappear when they are unconsious, so this Weedle must have come from outside. She gives an apple to the Weedle, and despite not coming back to conciousness their breathing seems to stabilize. She uses the team badge to return it to the asociation.

The team then goes through the stairs.

Final Floor

They descent through the stairs, their steps echo as they get closer to an opening.

They find themselves in a big room, different from the other. There's a big platform at the center of the room, over it is a wooden pedestal with what seems to be a green glowing sphere floating above it. The sphere seems to have some sort of leaf made from energy inside of it.

Surrounding the platform there are some wooden benches in bad state. Near the walls there seems to be a lot of debris. This room has seen better days.

In one of the corners of the room there's is a Mienfoo, sitting over a pile of debris. She lifts up her eyes and looks towards the team. "Are you the rescue team?" she says.

Sky takes a step forward "Yes, we are. Are you hurt?" she responds. "I'm fine" the Mienfoo replies "Thank you for coming."

While Sky and the Mienfoo are talking, Pooch moves a little closer to the center of the room. "I've never seen something like that." he says, looking at the orb "The air around it feels more light.", he takes a deep breath.

"I don't think we should disturb it." says Sky as she comes near Pooch "These artifacts usually control the natural order of the area they are in." "If we TOUCH IT" she shouts as she turns her view to the Mienfoo who is extending her paw to touch the artifact "we could BREAK it and it would CAUSE PROBLEMS around here."

"But my town needs it!" the Mienfoo screams back "I can't leave without it!" Pooch comes closer to the Mienfoo "Look, we can talk with the Rescue Asociation to help with your town."

"The asociation said they were too busy to help me!" the Mienfoo says in an angry tone. Pooch remembers that it's true that the asociation has been very busy with some storms near the coast. "WE will do it then!" Sky shouts, both the Mienfoo and Pooch look at her.

"You don't even know what the problem is about!" the Mienfoo says. Sky looks at her with a confident look "A rescue team always helps anyone who needs them."

Somehow, through the sheer tone of her words, through the confindence in her attitude the Mienfoo seems to believe what Sky is saying. Pooch remembers those same words, when he met Sky in the fire a few months ago.

"Would you really do that for me?" the Mienfoo says softly. "We will." Sky says, "That's right!" Pooch says with confidence as he gets closer to the two.

Sky lifts up the team badge and the three of them return to the Rescue Asociation, completing the mission successfully.

After completing the mission they get some time to talk with the Mienfoo. She tells them that her name is Amapola and she is from the Oran Lake Town.

She tells them that a month ago some weird events started happening. First the lake's water started to smell and taste rotten, which led to the pokemon of the town having to find other water supplies around the area. They named this weird fenomenon "The Pestilence", and Amapola set out of the town to find a way to purify the water.

She learned about the artifact in the Enigma Temple from someone in town, but got trapped in the mystery dungeon. And that's how they found her.

After speaking with Amapola they reunited with Pike and told him what happened. "Travel to Oran Lake?! You two just started going on missions a couple of weeks ago!" said Pike loudly. "The Asociation hasn't addressed her problems because of the storms near the coast." Sky replied, "If nobody else can help we want to do it ourselves!"

Pike pauses for a little while, then he speaks "It's true we are kind of collapsed right now with the storms at Roar Port, but I don't feel right sending a team of rookies on a field job." He turns to Pooch "Plus, if you go away then the whole city's mail would be delayed".

Pooch looks down, he is needed here in town too... but he promised Amapola he would help. He suddenly looks up, he seems to have an idea "What if were two teams?". Pike looks at him while Pooch continues "All of the other rookie teams are in the same spot that us. If two teams go we would also be a lot stronger and prepared to face whatever happens."

Pike looks at Pooch in silence for a moment "You don't mind leaving Windmill City without mail?". Pooch replies "Nyta and Taytay can cover me. And besides, a rescue team always helps anyone who needs them!". Sky smiles at his side.

Pike looks at both of them with pride "Alright, I'll find another team to accompany you to Oran Lake." "Thank you." Sky says as the team jumps a little out of joy. Pike continues "You will set out the day after tomorrow, you have 2 days to prepare. Now go talk to Amapola."

The team thanks Pike and goes back to talk with Amapola. Pike looks at them both as they go away "... these two sure are a handful..." he says. "I sure hope there's nothing too dangerous happening at Oran Lake though..." he thinks to himself as he walks towards the Guildmaster's office.
