Session 8: On the Road to Oran Lake

In the Rescue Association Building
"WHAT?" Sky screams, "YOU?". "THE OTHER TEAM ARE YOU GUYS???" Slash screams back.
"Couldn't they get a better team?" Slash says. "I'M SORRY??" Sky screams still in shock. "They couldn't find someone more annoying?!". They lightly headbutt each other in the head, there's an intense aura in the room.
To the side there's a tired looking Pooch and Riolu. "Please don't fight." Pooch says, "Its too early for this." Riolu adds.
"That's enough!" says Pike while he separates Sky and Slash. "If you aren't able to behave then nobody will go to Oran Lake."
The moment they hear this Sky and Slash stand next to each other in a straight pose, "Yes sir!" they shout. Pike lets out a sigh, "That's better" he mutters. He then looks at everyone and starts explaining the plan.
"You must escort Amapola to Oran Lake, it should take you 3 to 5 days. When you're there you must find the cause of this Pestilense and eradicate it. After dealing with it, you'll travel back here and report to me. Understood?"
"Yes sir!" say Sky and Slash in an energetic tone, "Yes sir..." say Pooch and Riolu in a more tired tone. "Alright" Pike says "Amapola is waiting for you near the Association Entrance. Good luck!", he then starts walking towards the training grounds.
After Pike goes away, Slash turns towards Sky "I'll go talk to her!" he says in a competitive voice and starts running towards the entrance. "Hey!" Sky replies, following behind. As they run, Riolu whispers something in Pooch's ear, after listening Pooch nods.
Rescue Association Entrance
Back in the race to the entrance, Sky manages to run past Slash after taking a sharp corner. Slash is starting to be left behind little by little. Sky looks behind her and winks "Guess I'm gonna win!". Fueled by pure spite Slash starts to run faster and closes the distance between them and Sky.
Just by a fraction of a second Sky manages to get to the entrance first, followed by Slash. There Slash can't believe their eyes "Wha- HOW??" they scream as they see Pooch talking to Amapola.
Sky lets out a long sigh and walks towards them. She knows Pooch is incredibly fast, she just didn't expected him to also run to the entrance.
"-and so the plan for the 4 of us to escort you to Oran Lake and then fix this Pestilence stuff." Pooch says to Amapola. "I see." Amapola replies "but where are the others?". "Right here." Sky responds as she gets closer to the two of them, behind there is Slash with a defeated expression "Good morning..." they say.
Amapola greets them "Nice to meet you! Are you from the other team Pooch mentioned?". "That's right!" says the Pawniard "My name is Slash and I'm the leader of Team Shadow Blade". Slash does a dab after saying this.
Sky hits them in the head with her tail, but Slash doesn't seem to notice. "Oh" says Amapola, "are you from a solo team?". "Oh, no" they reply, then turns their head around looking around the room "Where's Riolu?". "Right here" says Riolu just arriving at the room.
Amapola stays there in shock at the sight of Riolu. For some reason she finds him incredibly attractive.
"Well, now that we are all here ¿Should we go on our way?" Sky says to everyone, the rest nods and the group starts walking out of the guild and through the city. Amapola stays specially close to Riolu on the way.
They quickly reach the edge of the city and start making their way on the road. Sky leads the group, Slash tried to be the one to lead, but the Skitty quickly convinces everyone she should lead by showing Slash don't know what cardinal directions are.
Day 1 of Travel
During the morning the group moves through the road and nothing seems out of the ordinary. The are long plains that extend for a while, every now and then the group sees some bird-like pokemon flying in the distance.
During the afternoon Sky searches for a place to rest for the night, she finds a wagon, broken and abandoned near the side of the road, near a tree. The wagon seems to be pretty big, she hits it with her tail and manages to turn it around, making as a makeshift tent for shelter.
Pooch and Slash make a campfire near the wagon, everyone sits around it and each of them eats two apples. They take turns to make watch during the night but nothing happens.
Day 2 of Travel
The next morning Slash makes it their goal to lead the group for today. They start to heavily annoy everyone until they give up and finally let Slash lead the group.
During the morning, the group follows the road, with Slash in front. They seem to be having a blast going in front and looking at what's ahead. Maybe they should have let them lead sooner because its pretty chill.
Suddenly Sky stops the group "Somebody is following us" she says. Everyone go to high alert, they position themselves in a circle with Amapola at the center. There seem so be noises coming from some nearby bushes.
A silhouette jumps from the bushes so quickly that its hard to see. It positions itself in front of the group and goes "Give me all your stuff!". It seems to be an Archen with a cute Bandana tied around their head with a knife strapped to one of its wings. The knife is pointing in the wrong direction, it doesn't look very intimidating.
"Are you sure?" says Sky, seeing as they were 4 vs 1. The Archen pauses for a second, then they look down "No..." they say in a sad tone.
Everyone looks at each other in confusion. The Archen starts to cry a little. "Hey... are you ok?" says Pooch, "Just keep going the way you were" the Archen replies in a quiet tone. "Ok" says Pooch "Have a nice day" he says. And the group keeps going.
In the afternoon Slash starts leading the group through a part of the wilderness that they are convinced is a shortcut. And it seems they were right! They cover a lot of ground through the path, but after a while they run into a problem.
They find themselves in an area with really tall grass with a path that goes in deeper. This is clearly the entrance of a mystery dungeon.
"We could try and go around it." says Riolu, "That would take us another day of travel" Sky replies. "I prefer to be safe and take the extra day." says Amapola "There's no need to go through uneccesary danger." she says while looking at Riolu.
Slash butts in "This mystery dungeon is nothing for us! We are not a bunch of loser cowards like those two." They say while pointing at Pooch and Sky. "What?!" sky screams "We are gonna show you! Let's go Pooch" she says while going side by side with Slash inside the mystery dungeon, headbutting each other.
The rest of the group lets out a sigh and follow them.
